NANOSEN-AQM – Development and field validations of low cost-low energy consumption nanosensor system for real time air quality monitoring

NanoSen-AQM faces the challenge of monitoring ambient air pollution and informing the public of air quality in real time in a sustainable manner. The objective of the project is to develop an electronic system based on low cost and low consumption sensors, validating the system in different locations of Spain and Portugal.

The main goal is to design, develop, demonstrate and exploit a new modular, plug-n-play concept/product for ADBE(Adaptable/Dynamic Building Envelopes) able to provide high energy use reductions and high energy harvesting from RES (Renewable Energy Sources) both at the single-building and the district scale while requiring medium-to-low installation costs and almost-zero operational costs.
ULISES – Development of a large-scale solar collector for heat generation in mining processes
The high cost of diesel to heat up portions of the processes in the copper industry and the solar radiation available in most copper mining areas led AIGUASOL to develop a new large-scale solar thermal collector that is more efficient and cheaper than conventional solar collectors.

The project for self-sufficient island in the centre of town of Olot, in Girona, raised satisfying the thermal needs of five services buildings in the market area through two district heating and cooling networks fed by 100% renewable, local energy sources.
Energy diagnosis and improvement strategies in the asphalt production process

The challenges of the production process of asphalt are summarized in four categories: to provide the raw material with lower moisture content, to reduce energy losses in the processes, to restore energy losses in the processes, and to sources of cheaper and more environmentally friendly energy.

Charmex International built a 6,000m2 building in Getafe (Madrid) which will hold its own offices as well as offer office space for rent. The energy goal is to obtain a LEED GOLD certification.
