On Wednesday, July 5, took place the founding ceremony of the Energy Community of Poblenou, created as a result of the collaboration of the Energy Agency of Barcelona, the Quatre Cantons Institute and its association of families, as well as the association of neighbors of Poblenou.

The community receives photovoltaic energy through an installation of 58 kWp made on the roof of the institute, which allows to allocate 30% of the energy generated, i.e. approximately 500 W in energy self-consumption for each of the neighbors registered in the community, without any cost or permanence.

The only requirement to join the community is to be a member of the municipal energy trading company, Barcelona Energía, and to live less than 2 km from the source of generation, i.e. the school’s photovoltaic installation.

Aiguasol has participated in the consulting and dynamization of the community through Civic Energy in collaboration with our colleagues from La Mirada Cooperativa and Azimut 360, as well as in the development of JoinEnergy, a digital tool that will be used for the management and formalization of the community once it is fully operational in early September.
