More than 700,000 m2 of projects in buildings of varied uses, reducing their environmental impact and energy costs and increasing the comfort of their users.

The Vision Framework
Some 40% of the world’s energy consumption is associated with buildings. Buildings are also responsible for over 21% of all greenhouse gas emissions. Above and beyond a country’s strategic vision, energy consumption in buildings has a local impact, with energy costs that have increased an order of magnitude faster than GDP in the past ten years and direct effects on productivity and the comfort of users.
What We Offer
We carry out projects from the concept design stage to the basic and master plans through to site management, implementation and subsequent monitoring.
We believe that energy is part and parcel of building design:
- We propose, develop and adapt custom solutions to reduce buildings’ energy costs and emissions.
- We strive to guarantee the comfort of users indoors, paying close attention to heating and ventilation and to lighting and visual factors.
- We analyze measures in energy and financial terms, considering life-cycle costs and prioritizing measures with the greatest feasibility.
We conduct lighting, thermal performance and use-based energy consumption studies and assess efficient and renewable technologies.
We consider solutions adapted to the case at hand, ranging from residential buildings to large tertiary consumer structures like offices, hotels, hospitals, sports facilities, schools, shopping centers, etc., including everything from the technical development work to administrative procedures and subsidies.

How We Do It
With the experience and expertise we have gained since 1999, we are able to propose the most suitable targeted solutions to the specific project, considering the various perspectives and the economic, financial, environmental, operational and comfort optimization goals.
When conceiving a project, we work together with the architect, the design team, the customer and the users in order to integrate all their various needs. We look at buildings as a whole, as a complex entity with multiple synergies, assessing the different key variables all at once and integrating the entire process from the concept design and master plan to the building in operation.
We are specialists in the physics of buildings, using techniques and technologies that take into account the energy vector, such as material properties (inertia, insulation, durability), the most efficient and/or renewable energy production systems (geothermal energy, cogeneration, biomass, solar photovoltaic, solar thermal, high-efficiency heat pumps, etc.), and other elements impacting costs and comfort (distribution systems, comfort diffusion systems, etc.), continuously striving for the optimum balance. We use highly comprehensive tools and methodologies, not as an end but as a process.
We present different scenarios, identify main trends and provide a detailed look at the implementation of profitable measures, considering cost throughout the life cycle to achieve suitable solutions in every project.
We offer our results based on comprehensive, process-adapted documentation, ranging from customer-oriented reports and administrative documentation to models with detailed information on energy investments.
Featured Projects
The GESA building transformation: from heritage landmark to positive-energy icon in Palma
Within the framework of the ARV innovation project—which promotes the creation of circular communities and the accelerated renovation of buildings across Europe—AIGUASOL and IREC, in collaboration with the City Council of Palma, undertook the challenge of rehabilitating the GESA building. The goal was to adapt it to future needs and transform it into a positive building, producing more energy than it consumes.

Transforming Energy at the Uliazpi Foundation: Innovation and Sustainability at the Service of People
At Aiguasol, we have collaborated with the Uliazpi Foundation with the objective of decarbonizing the heating and domestic hot water (DHW) systems of its centers in Zubieta (Hondarribia) and the foundation’s buildings in Ategorrieta (Donostia).

Leading the way toward efficient building decarbonization in Guyana
At Aiguasol, we are advancing the energy transition in the Caribbean through a new initiative in Guyana, supported by the World Bank and implemented in partnership with the OECS Commission and the Guyana Energy Agency. Together with Azimut 360 and Renew Caribe, we have evaluated the decarbonization potential of 13 public buildings across the country.
