From wineries to asphalts, from the dairy sector to the mining industry, we have been saving energy in industrial processes since 1999.
THE VISION FRAMEWORK
The degree of energy consumption in industry varies depending on how you define the term, but it always accounts for at least 40% of the world total. As a sector, it is particularly complex on account of the dispersion and variety of cases and the volatility of energy prices. It is also complex for being large consumers with multiple uses and due to the specific nature of the market segment. Bolstered by our experience in the sector, we identify business models for owners and third-party investors.
WHAT WE OFFER
Based on our experience with private customers and in subsectors through research projects, we offer contextualized, process-specific benchmarking assessments. This enables us first and foremost to detect business opportunities based on operating savings or investments with attractive rates of return.
We sketch out the energy flow to detect hidden assets at the site and propose actions to make use of them:
- Process integration
- Reuse of residual heat
- Integration of renewable energies
- Energy bill optimization
- Waste recovery
- Business models for third-party investments
For each subsector, from agriculture to mining, asphalts to paper and others, we propose investments in improvements and process integrations that enable maximum utilization of primary energy for different uses. As specialists in production, we analyze the interaction and integration of consumption, optimizing processes and power and providing conceptual and detailed design solutions. We define key performance indicators to track and determine financial feasibilities with return on investment, both for in-house or third-party operating models.
OUR TOOLS
TESS 18 – Component Libraries
The libraries feature over 350 models for studying building energy systems, solar energy applications, thermal storage and ground coupling.
TRNSYS 18 – Energy system simulation
Extremely flexible graphically based software environment used to simulate the behavior of energy systems and energy building simulation (including LEED energy modelling).
METEONORM 8 – Global Weather Data
METEONORM delivers global historical hourly values of irradiation, temperature, humidity, wind and precipitation from 2010 to present, constantly updated. (Contact us for more price options)
TRNFLOW – Ventilation module for TRNSYS 18
TRNFLOW integrates an airflow model into TRNSYS. Easy calculation of natural ventilation, passive cooling at night strategies, ventilated facades...
HOW WE DO IT
For energy efficiency in industry, one must focus on the needs and peculiarities of the production process.
We combine the experience of our engineers and the use of our own calculation tools, especially designed for this type of applications to diagnose potential savings and assess their feasibility. We are involved all throughout the implementation process, from diagnosis to commissioning, constantly balancing the production, financial and energy-related requirements.
We know the leading market suppliers and work with them to independently manage the investment valuations, giving options to the ownership. Our knowledge of the financial industry and investments also enables us to define or modulate business models, both for own investments and investments by third parties, which we can bring to the project when needed.

Progress of the #Descarbagro project to decarbonize agricultural cooperatives
Within the framework of the Singulars #Descarbagro project, these past weeks we have visited the Agricultural Cooperatives of Santa Barbara and La Granadella, specialized in olive oil production, to advance in their decarbonization processes.
Ispaster’s Journey Towards Sustainability: A Beacon of Community-Led Change
A significant milestone in Ispaster's sustainability journey is the development of an Energy Community for its residents within the LocalRES project. This innovative initiative involves the installation of photovoltaic panels on citizens' roofs, with the generated electricity accessible to any member of the Energy Community.
