Multiple developments come into play when designing a cutting-edge telescope, and these must be brought together perfectly above and beyond their performance and independent design.

Schwartz Hautmont, a manufacturer of metal constructions for multiple industries, was commissioned to build the dome of a new telescope. For this, Schwartz Hautmont needed to show how external weather conditions and the transmissibility of the enclosure could impact the error of the telescope lenses.

AIGUASOL modeled the dome and interior areas around the telescope to determine the surface conditions of the enclosure (exterior and interior) and the interior areas at different representative moments of the year that, together with the planned air-conditioning, could have an impact on lens behavior.

Validation of the impact of internal dome conditions on error deviation in measurements for a telescope design

In the design of a last generation telescope multiple developments are involved and, beyond their performance and independent design, those should be properly integrated into an optimized set.
