A study of hourly thermal demand in an administrative building, optimization of architectural solutions and a geothermal heat pump system.

The campus of historical buildings comprising the Sant Creu and Sant Pau hospitals, designed by Domènech i Montaner, underwent a complete rehabilitation, including a change in use, modernization and updating of all its facilities.

AIGUASOL did a study of the hourly thermal demand in the administrative building and optimized the architectural solutions to improve thermal comfort. Project highlights include an analysis of the main meeting room and insulation solutions for the roof as well as the shading of closings in order to reduce thermal loads.

The project also included a heating and cooling system based on a system of heat pumps and geothermal exchangers and emission systems based on binomial, fan coil or radiant flooring depending on the desired inertia in each area.
