TRNSYS license activation
Installation
Access your account at:

- Browse to “Downloads” and download TRNSYS. Do not close your browser, below the download link you will find the necessary License Activation blocks to activate TRNSYS.
- Install TRNSYS normally ( IMPORTANT: Users of Windows 7/8, remember to install TRNSYS as Administrator – Right click on the .exe file and “run as administrator“)
Activation
All TRNSYS installations under the same license share the same user18.id file. You will receive your user18.id file from AIGUASOL (if you didn’t get it contact us at software@aiguasol.coop) and should be copied to TRNSYS root installation directory (default is c:\Trnsys18). In addition, each installation creates a unique “machine code” that must be unlocked with an “activation key“.
- Copy your user18.id file to TRNSYS root installation directory (default is c:/Trnsys18)
- Launch TRNSYS
- First time TRNSYS launches a “machine code” is generated, copy this code (ctrl+c, be careful to ONLY include the code characters)
- Browse to “Downloads” and search for the “TRNSYS” activation block, paste your “machine code” in “Enter your ID code“, enter your email adress and click on “obtain your activation key“.
- Copy and paste the “activation key” back in TRNSYS to activate your license.
- Do not forget to restart the computer.
That’s it! This process is run only once.

Deactivate a user / machine from the license
Sometimes it is necessary to deactivate a user or change the machine on which TRNSYS is installed.
To deactivate a machine, within TRNSYS it is possible to browse to ? / About > RETURN LICENSE KEY.
You need to be connected to the Internet, the process disables the local user, connects to the license server and releases a new user. This way it is possible to re-download TRNSYS and install/activate it on the new machine.
