2011 ISOVER EUROPE Award for the most efficient building for tertiary use in Europe

AIGUASOL joined the project team during the conception and design phases of the new building. Using dynamic simulation, we analyzed and optimized the various components of the building’s façade as well as other exterior elements.

The Centro de Ciencias de Benasque Pedro Pascual (CCBPP) expanded in 2007 with the incorporation of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), which led to the planning of a new building designed to host high-level scientific meetings.
Architects Isabel Pascual and Bernardo Fernández won the contract, and among of the premises for the development of the project was the incorporation of energy efficiency criteria and the integration of renewable energy.

AIGUASOL joined the project team during the conception and design phases of the new building. Using dynamic simulation, we analyzed and optimized the various components of the building’s façade as well as other exterior elements.

AIGUASOL also analyzed different energy system options before choosing a biomass system based on radiant flooring and integrating a solar photovoltaic system.
