We are pleased to announce that the article on the Building Circularity Methodology (BCM) we developed within the Horizon 2020 HOUSEFUL Project, has just been published on the BUILD UP digital platform, the European portal for energy efficiency and renewable energy in buildings.
The methodology evaluates Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) from a life cycle viewpoint (from material extraction through end-of-life actions) to assess circularity according to six Circular Economy pillars.
These are flow analysis indicators for the primary natural resources used during building construction operations (energy, water, and materials), as well as impact indicators for sustainability (social, environmental, and economic implications).
The methodology is key to evaluate the efficiency of circular economy solutions for the housing sector, and we hope it becomes a resourceful tool to advance a more equitable and sustainable building paradigm.
