The design and modeling of energy systems is based on two axes, which are knowledge and calculation tools. In regards to calculation methods, it is important to keep in mind the dynamics and the physical characteristic of the energy systems that are closely related to the climate and the inertia or energy storage capacity, phenomena of a variable nature. TRNSYS

Pronounced ‘tran-sis,’ this is a comprehensive simulation environment, flexible, open and appropriate to simulate any transient system. Although it mainly focuses on energy systems analysis, TRNSYS can be used to model other dynamic systems such as traffic flow or biological processes. Since its conception more than 30 years ago, the program has been constantly under development by an international consortium.

Wide range of libraries of components for TRNSYS with more than 500 components fully documented that can be acquired jointly or separately.

TRANSOL

Software specifically developed for the simulation and design of solar thermal systems that provides the user with the reliability and accuracy of the dynamic calculation based on TRNSYS 16. TRANSOL has a high quality graphical interface, is intuitive, easy to use and is available in several languages.

TRNFlow

Módulo acoplable con TRNSYS que permite el cálculo de sistemas de ventilación natural y mecánica, conjuntamente con la simulación energética en edificios multi-zona. Calcula también el transporte de contaminantes en el interior de un edifico.

EES

ESS can solve large sets of non-linear algebraic equations and differential equations. ESS is used to obtain high quality graphics, perform linear and nonlinear regressions, optimization and uncertainty analysis. A large quantity of functions and properties of thermodynamics and transport are implemented in ESS.

METEONORM

This is a global weather databases for engineers, planners and education. It is a reference tool which features a catalog of meteorological data as well as calculation procedures focused on solar energy applications and systems design for any location in the world.

COMIS

Simulation software about air streams and air pollutant transport in multi-zone buildings. Easily applied with TRNSYS to solve simulation problems about thermo-aerodynamic issues.
